 | gas to diesel swap I have a 2000 gmc 3/4t 4x4 crew cab with a 350. I want to pull out the 350 and drop in a 6.2 diesel. I was wondering if the auto tranny is computer controled for shifting, I would make a guess that it is, but not sure on the 3/4 ton setup because you could also get a 6.5 diesel and I am guessing that the tranny was not comp. controled on diesels. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance. |

 | Well its electronic, but the trans will have to be replaced. Diesels shift much earler and therefore the transmission needs to be built specifically for a diesel motor.
