Let me guess, its 1995 or newer? I am willing to bet its the control in the steering column. I have changed out several for this very reason. Check under the truck on the wiring harness and make sure it didnt get damaged somehow, But I think its time to get it to the shop because the airbag has to be removesd to get the steering wheel off.

okay let me be a little more specific in the hopes that you are not right on this one, its a 1999 suburban 1500 (i should have said that earlier). i have had nothing but trouble with this stupid truck since i bought it, we just recently replaced both rear tail light assemblies, only about $80 a piece , it only been about 3 months, and now i have no power to them all of the sudden. if u have any more ideas please offer them, i dont want to have to take this thing to the dealer again, can't afford it right now!! thank you for your prompt reply though

There is a junction block for the rear lights mounted right rear behind right wheel and has like 3 connections it is a square flat box and lots of times they get water in them that is where i would start to look or with the lights on wiggle and have someone look to see if any of the rear lights flicker or come on.

no problem tina, and since the rest of yall didnt see what i said bc it was in a PM, in case you ever encounter a similar problem...... the trailer light connector can get ripped off while driving off road and when this happens you lose your rear lighting bc the way the trailer light connector is "spliced".... i dont really know how to explain it, but GMtech, i'm sure you know what i'm talkin bout, and CG, just take a look under the back bumper next time your around a 99 burb
