I have a 1999 Chevy Silverado with 5.3 4X4. I had the fuel pump replaced about 5 months ago. The other day I stopped into a local store. When I came out I attempted to start the engine. It turned over, but no start. I then went to the bleed for the fuel line and plenty of gas came out. The truck then started. I went to my neighbors shop and he checked the fuel pressure 60lbs. I drove for two more days and no problem. I started to leave work the other day and same thing no start. Turn over but no start. I tried the bleed valve again, but this time no fuel. I let it sit over night and tried again the next day. No go. I changed the relay and still no go. I gave up and had it towed to my neighbors shop. It sat there overnight, and to my surprise he got in and it started when he wanted to put it inside his shop. He has had the computer on it and no codes come up. He has started it cold and hot, sitting for awhile and still starts. Fuel pressure still good, no codes on the computer? Fuel filter was changed at same time as fuel pump. Any ideas would be appreciated? Fuel pump is GM orginal. Thanks the new guy on the block.

something similar happened in my 02 s10. it turned out to be a bad electrical short, somewhere in the battery cable delivering power to all of the components of the truck. so i couldn't turn on any lights, or use the power locks or windows or anything. it was a pain in the ***

i just realized that in your post, you said the engine turned over but didn't start, which makes my post completely irrelevant. sorry about that

Have had problems with the fuel pump fuse i think it is labeled ecm b fuse or might be fuel pump in the underhood fuse block. the pin fit gets loose do to the high amp draw from like the old pump you had replaced. Also have had alot of igntion switches open usually some of the gauages or prndl light wont come on when you got to start it if you just jerk the tilt wheel up and down while holding the key it will start. Those are the first common areas that come to my mind.
