94 Blazer 4.3

94 Blazer 4.3. I get a code 32 which is egr. My Question. Will a bad egr cause the engine to Idle bad and stall. any help is greatly appreciated on this matter. Autozone says there are two types of egr for this vehicle. 1 costs $119.00 and the other $205.00 I'm not sure which it is till I get it out.

jay996 is on a distinguished road
First try and clean the egr valve and the mounting point of the intake manifold,it is a very common problem for the valve and mount point
to get plugged up with carbon. It is a very easy thing to check,I believe it is two 9/16 bolts, don't hold me to that!!!Its been a while! Check the valve for carbon deposits.

yes the egr valve will make the engine act like that. that price is very high. gm didn't cange body styles till 95 which i think is when they went to the vortec engine, so unless you some how have a vortec engine then the egr valve should only cost around 50 dollars. i know because i had a 89 4.3. i would snap a pic and take it with you, more than likely the autozoner hit a 5 instead of 4 in the year. if they happen to be right i would try cleaning it and saving me a hundred bucks. good luck.

The diference is the 8th digit in your vin number if it is a z it has a vacuum egr valve which is cheaper and if you have a w it is an electronic egr more expensive and those styles get carbon debis stuck in them pretty comon can be cleaned out and reinstalled its mounted right below the throttlebody.

Yeh they started using the electronic egr valves in 94/95 on up and they have very little spring tension to close them so carbon gets stuck in them causing a vacuum leak so you get a rough idle and hard brake pedal mostly in the 4.3 w engines
