2500 HD more power / performance

Hey everybody I wanted to see if I can get some info regarding performance and horsepower. I just picked up a fifth wheel trailer and I would like to add more horsepower and performance to my 2002 8 liter. I was thinking of installing headers. What do you think would this be wise would this help if so what brand should I go with. What other options do I have.

Thanks for the help

installing headers is not going to give you the performance that you might be seeking. more than just that needs to be done if you are seeking a noticable differance in power gain. if you do want to get headers, there are several different makes and models out there dependant on what exactly you want your truck to do. Hooker makes great products but tends to be more expensive than the rest of the competition.

Headers will cause your egr not to function correctly. Your egr relies on some back pressure to work and headers (allowing free flow) will prevent that. The long primaries type of headers has the most free flowing function whereas the shorty types works on egrs....I think. If your state does'nt require emission inspection then you'll be alright.
