2001 Chevy Silverado Z-71 Starting Problem

I've had my truck for about 3 years now. It's been an great truck but I'm having a minor problem. It just started having a problem firing when I turn the key. I'll hit the started once and it won't fire. The second time, it fires up perfectly. I've changed the fuel filter routinely, replaced the plugs and wires. It runs perfectly on the road with no hesitation and no engine lights. I know its something to do with the fuel system. What could it be? fuel pump? pressure reguator? Any suggestions please.

I have just replaced my fuel pump for the third time. I have a 99. Your symtoms are similar to mine when it went out. If your motor doesn't start have some one turn the key, you crawl under and rap on the center of the fuel tank. If the truck starts it is your fuel pump. Hope this helps as I had to have mine towed into the shop from work.
