Pete, single axle, no trailer, no nothing, 2500. I traded a 250 Ford with 6.0 and was getting 18 around town with Edge Juice programer.

I average 13.5 mpg with my truck, completely stock. 90% in town. I drive it real easy.

Hate to contradict on here, but no one can expect 18-22 mpg on a stock LLY in stop and go traffic. I can get 20 mpg on the highway at about 60 mph. Faster than that and it drops drastically.

But I didn't buy it for it's economical mileage.

I bought an '06 Silverado 2500HD crewcab with the Duramax/Allison combo and I just got back from a 5,000 mile holiday to Arizona where the average mileage, pulling a 28' 5th wheel, was 12 MPG to the US gallon! Skootin' along in cruise at 60 mph w/o trailer I pick up 6-8 MPG at least (depending where the wind's coming from....In town, about 15-18 depending on how much of a hurry I'm in...I dunno....heavier? Higher diff gears? I have 6 speeds in my box...maybe that extra O/D?
