Talking What engine?

I'm having difficutlty finding what type engine I have... Its a 2005 Silverado Reg. Cab Short Bed. Its a V-8 but not sure if it 4.8 or 5.3. The 8th digit of the VIN is the engine code for my truck, the letter is X. When I ran this letter against the owners manual, there was no X!

Also... The manual states that the 4.8 can be either Auto/Manual and the 5.3 only automatic. So my reasoning leads me to believe its a 4.8L due to the facts I encountered...

Needing this issue cleared up!

Thanks,
j0n*b0i

Isn't there a emission sticker under the hood that states engine size?

if the 8th digit is an x it is not a v8 it is a 4.3 v6. might want to recheck your vin number

its a 8cyl... i can tell that much by looking at the headers.
took it to the chevy dealer... its 4.8 V8!

Thanks for the help...

It is going to snow really nasty here these next two days, other than weighing down the bed of my truck... how should it hold up? Fact I got some horses(HP) going to help?

did you recheck your vin number because if it is an x it should be a v6 unless someone swapped out engines
