Question Rough idle and Stutter on acceleration 2003 Tahoe 5.3 Vortec

I need a little help guys. I have a 2003 Chevy Tahoe with the 5300 Vortec. It started idling rough and running a little sluggish under acceleration about two weeks ago. The check engine code that it threw was Lean on Bank 1 Sensor 1, and Lean on Bank 1 Sensor 2.
After replacing the parts listed below, and cleaning the throttle body the truck idles a little smoother but after a clean restart still hesitates under acceleration. If you hold the brake and press the gas the engine will bog until the check engine light comes on and the motor go into safe mode. Then you have all the power you need.

1.Spark Plugs (ACDELCO)
2.Wires (Borg Warner)
3.Mass Airflow Sensor
4.Air Filter
5.Fuel filter

Thanks in advance, any ideas would be appreciated.

Have you tried pulling the codes again? Could be a dirty EGR or maybe a bad Idle air control valve. I'd pull the codes again and see if anything else comes up.

On my 5.3l silverado a similar thing would happen. I would come to a stop or a light and the rpms would drop under 500 and stall. I cleaned my throttle body and it hasent happened again. i agree with mrjohnwayne sounds like EGR.

we have had alot of intakes leaking vacuum. spray some carb cleaner around the base of the black plastic intake and see if there is a change in the way the engine runs your getting codes p0171 and p0174 correct?

Hi guys, new here and having the same problem. I have an '03 Silverado 1500, 5.3L vortec, 81k mi. I've added a K&N intake, and flowmaster exhaust.
Last week after idling for about 5 minutes (about 25-30 degrees outside) the check engine light came on and it started idling rough. I went to my mechanic and it also threw a bank 1 sensor 1 code, a misfire code, running lean, and a bad o2 sensor.
The misfiring/bucking seems to cease after warm-up, and only occurs @ idle speed when cold.
Any ideas fellas? Any/all help is greatly appreciated!!

Change the o2 sensor, recommend genuine part (from dealer). I'm always buying a 2nd o2 sensor (from dealer) because the generic brands always still throw the same code. I can bet that this is going to correct the other faults.

TL124 yours alos sounds like and intake leaking vacuum they happens mostly cold and seal up once they get warm. Usualy set codes p0171, p0174 and could also set code p0300. Spray carb cleaner around base of plastic intake when cold and see if idles changes if so thats the culprit.

Hey gm, I didn't know the intake was plastic. You learn something everyday huh. Good call about that carb cleaner spray though. I do that to my '85 442. Can't believe I didn't suggest it.
