| I know this is an old thread, but i am having the same sort of problem. I am fixing up an 86 silverado c20 with dual tanks.... all the tank mounts are rusted up. Both of the tanks that were on it leak really bad... need to change them out. They are 20 gal tanks. I have two new 16 gal tanks Here is the problem... not sure if the 16 gal tanks will work with the way the holes are drilled on the frame presently? Do I really need to go out and get the 20 gallon tanks? Or is there a way to do all this that i am not thinking of that will work? Do i have to go out and get, or make, the mounting brackets? or is it possible to just mount the tanks using just tank straps....????? Any help would be really appreciated Thanks Sam |

| You can use the 16 gal tanks, but you might have to move one of the mount brackets, and drill new holes for it. been a while since i put in a 16 gal, usually everyone wants the biggest tank they can fit in there. |

| Just want to point out, this is why OLD THREADS, DO NOT need to be closed !!! Welcome to the forum Sammy. Good Luck with this. I have an 86 C20 with dual tanks. Not sure of the size, I know it cost a fortune to fill the truck, but if you need underside pics and can wait til a better weather day, I'll snap a few for you. Its just wet out right now, and not wanting to lay on the cold wet concrete. Monday may be a good day. Let me know.
