cruise control

my cruise stoped working it has happened before i had the unit changed a 2 years ago and it sill some times does not work could it be the brake switch and it is not easy to get at on my 1998 chevy silverado 1500 z71
5.7 engine . thanks for any info ..........pete

there are two switches at the brake pedal. one is for the brake lights, the other is for the cruise control. you may need to wrap some electrical tape around the brake where the switch makes contact to help keep the switch engaged.

Most of the time when it is the brake switch either it won't engage or it pops out of cruise while driving and the quick check to see if it is just a brake switch adjustment problem is too slightly pull up on the brake pedal if the cruise disengages or does not engage and see if it works if so it is a conmcern with the brake switch

last night i played with the wires to the brake switch wow it is hard to reach but got my fingers in there and moved them ..... and this morning going to work
my cruise worked just fine thanks guys ..... .....pete
