Shaking 1995 Silverado

I'm hoping someone can help me out. I have a 1995 Silverado, 2wd, 5.7 with 180k miles. I've replaced the complete brake system and still get a shaking upon braking. It feels like the truck is coming apart. I used AC Delco parts, I've lubed the driveshaft yoke, the front suspension has no excessive play. It almost feels like the ABS is kicking in. It's not as noticable with a load or towing.
Help, I love the truck and hate to lose.

mike,
It could be a brake line collapseing or a bad caliper. Both items are really cheap for your truck.

If you have ABS did you code? Might want to check the rear brakes for slipping.....the gear oil or possibly fluid getting on the shoes. Sounds like you're not getting any help slowing down from the rear. The front brakes is taking all the load (which is too much) to slow you down.

The calipers are new, brake hoses are new, Master Cylinder is new, wheel cylinders, shoes, drums etc. Replaced the rear hard line, rusty. No ABS light on.

Did you take it to a shop or did you do the brake overhaul yourself? Was the ABS system bled correctly? How long ago was the rotors replaced? How much did the rotor cost? This sort a determines the quality of it. I brought cheap rotors from checkers and it didn't last 6 months. It warped because the metal was of cheap grade. Paid for a heavy duty set a $100 each from a reputable brake store. Problem solved. In my case, I've replaced all the front parts too.

I own a Shop, I've had my best guy on it. I"ve used only AC Delco parts. That's my I'm so frustrated. I've gone 40mph cut off the truck in neutral and it still does it.

Wow, you eliminated the guess work huh (major brake overhaul). Try this then if you haven't tried it yet. Unplug the ABS I think it's the red and white harness. Take it for a spin and see what happens. Your truck will be just be on regular braking without the ABS.

Try changeing the transmission fluid and filter. Mine was doing the same thing and I have replaced everything you have plus some. I changed the trans. oil and filter and it fixed the problem.

I have, I think it might be the trans. I just want to hear it from another Truck owner before I rebuild the trans.
