| remote starter just had a remote starter installed by a professional car audio place in a 2003 silverado when you start the truck with the remote, the passlock dash light comes on after you insert the key and it stays on. if you start the truck with the key the pass lock does a test and then shuts off.is this normal to have the passlock light stay on when using the remote to start |

| Go back to the shop and they can wire it in differently. There are a couple of was to wire it in on your truck. Don't try to fix this yourself or you could kill the computer......... |

| I'm personally not a big fan of aftermarket remote starters and alarms. Even those installed by so called professionals that don't know very much more than we. Ask any professional GM, Ford or other tech and they will tell you that this is just the beginning of your problems. If it wasn't done by the factory when vehecle was assembled it's not worth the trouble!! Just another wrenchhead's opinion.

| I have a 2000 chevy s10 extreme. Standard doors and windows no chip in key. Replaced steering column and key. New fuel pump. I think the passlock wont let my truck start please help. No trouble codes exept low fuel tank pressure sensor. Pump comes on fine and she wants to start but the passlock keeps shutting down my injectors. cant I bypass it without a remote starter by using a toggle switch? From what Ive read so far it should just be the yellow wire coming out of my key cylinder that needs to be spliced and the toggle switch added to it is this correct and should it stop the no start condition or do i also need the computer reprogramed?
