Me personally I don't like body lifts. I'm pro suspension lift.

Another vote for no body lift. Although, to answer your question: A standard floor jack will work fine. Be sure to place a piece of wood between the jack, and the truck to help spread the load to a larger area. This will minimize body damage. Do not remove all of the body bolts at the same time, and do not do the cab, and the bed at the same time. You will run the risk of the cab falling off of the frame. Even with the 3" block that you will be installing, you will have enough room to do so. You also don't want to run the risk of trying to do it all at the same time, it will come out crooked. Do either side of the cab first, and use the bed to keep measurements straight, and accurate. Then when the cab is where you are satisfied, use it to align the bed, and the truck should track straight down the road.
It is also very important to make sure there is plenty of slack in all of the electrical harnesses that are attatched to the frame. Also remember to do the same for the filler neck, transfer case levers, clutch linkages, throttle linkages, (if any), and breake lines from the master cylinder. Know that the radiator will go up with the body, and the engine will stay with the frame. This means that the fan will no longer line up with the shroud, and you run the risk of breaking the fan, or shroud, if you do not remmove the shroud. Watch for trans. cooler lines, a/c lines, and any oil cooler lines that will break or crack during the lift. The bumpers are gonna have to be raised, and the trailer hitch will always hang low. Many other things to consider here, but you should get the genearal idea. Be safe, and make sure you have more than a lunch break to start, and finish a body lift project.

I think body lifts are O.K. except that on Chevy the frame rails sit so low they are completely visible. I'd say invest in some nice diamond plate running boards to help hide that a little if you do go with a body lift.
