1982 chevy 4x4 speedometer

My speedometer constanly bounces around. On the occasion it smooths out it is nowhere near correct. I do have 33' tires and realize that it will read slower by a few mph but mine is way off(like 15 to 20mph on the highway).

you probably need to lube the cable. if there are no connections from the firewall to the tranny you can undo it from the tranny and pull the cable out of the sleeve. use some white lithium and coat the cable and slide it back into the sleeve. once al the way back in twist it to be sure it is in the speedo.
