Angry Air Vent System

1996 Silverado 1500....

I wonder if others have the same dilemma.......

When I have my windows down and the recycle button (on or) off, hot air comes in through the vents at the floorboard. As soon as I close my windows, the hot air stops.

It is hot enough in Houston and I sure would like to cut off that hot air flow.

Any similarities with anyone out there in carrolandia?

Air console is set at:
Temp is set on cold....
Recycle button is off....
Fan speed is off.....
Front vent selected....

No matter what settings I have, I get hot air through the floor vent when I open my windows.
The hot air stops as soon as I close my windows.
I'd like to stop the hot air (or any air) from coming into the cab......

your vehicle is causing a suction. with air passing over the vehicle, it is creating a vacuum inside the cab. when you have a higher pressure at the front of your fresh air box and negative pressure in the cab, it is going to flow from there. you might also want to make sure that your heater control valve is not open and venting over the coils.
