| another fuel pump Ok I have now gone thru 2 fuel pumps in a month. I have replaced the FP relay with the first one. Before the last pump went out the ing. module went out. What am I missing. I have seen other threads saying the coolant temp or oil preasure sender can caust this too. 1991 Suburban 350 TBI |

| Are you using aftermarket fuel pumps are A-C Delco? Best stay with OEM. Also running low fuel level in tank will cause premature burn out. I see no connection to the pump and the coolant temp or oil pressure. Some are equipped with a low oil pressure fuel pump shutdown but that wouldn't burn the pump out.

| Well I didnt replace either pumps with AC Delco pumps, both were carters(I remember when they use to make quality parts). When I pull the tank down next week I will check the wires going to the pump. I checked the wires going to the pump and I do get voltage for a couple seconds , I guess this is when it preasurizes the sysem or primes the system. Has anyone ran a inline external pump as a backup? If so what pump did they use? |

| Carter makes good pump or at least use to. Fuel pump will only have voltage for about 5 seconds when ignition switch is in on position. Never tried external pump on the TBI but should work if it will produce the required pressure (9 to 13 psi).

| When My Fuel Pump Went Out, My Mechanic Didnt Want To Replace It With An Aftermarket (carter) Pump. He Made Me Go To The Dealer To Buy One. He Told Me That He Would Be Fixing My Truck Again Within A Few Months If I Used Aftermarket. |
