| Ok so I have an ugly truck, I'll admit it, but I want to make it look a little cooler if I can, so who thinks that clearance lights would look good on my Chevy 1988 1500?? and is there any way to make the front end the same height as the back so that the truck sits level?? or is this going to involve lift blocks??

| NEVER under any circumstance install lift blocks in the front end of a vehicle. i assume your truck is a 4wd?

| I say no lights. I just do not like them. As far as the leveling kit goes, if that truck is 4x4, then I believe you have torsion bars. Blocks should never be an option for the front EVER. ( the side loads against the front spring due to the front tires turning back and forth while steering will cause the blocks to eventually fall out.) Wasn't the 87 the last of the leaf sprung front end? If it still had leaf springs, then a new spring pack is only a couple of hundred bucks for new ones. If it is a torsion bar front end, then a leveling kit, like a pork chop (torsion bar re-indexing key) style will work. If it is 2wd, then you will have to purchase a new spring(s) to lift the front to the desired heigth. Be carefull with the upper ball joint here, increased lift with the stock upper a- arm really binds the ball joint. Sometimes hard to align if you lift too far. |

| 1988 1500 was IFS 4wd and IFS 2wd. No front leafs to attach blocks to. i was just making a point earlier. Anyhow assuming its a 4wd,just cranking the torsion bar bolt a little wont hurt anything and it will lift the front a bit. Dont go crazy and crank the heck out of them, Thats a great way to really mess up front end angles and make it ride trerrible.
