Help with Camshaft

I own a 00 Silverado 5.3 with Volant CAI, Flowmaster 40's and a BBK Throttle Body...i want to put a new camshaft into my truck, but im wondering if its worth it cause i want more power but im not sure about the real outcome....any suggestions?

i wouldnt. you can only put a mild cam in there if you dont want to do a bunch of reprogramming to the ecm. but with a mild cam, what have you accomplished?? sure it will add a little extra umph but the money and time is not going to be worth what you get in the end.

Brad is right and this is because of the ECM. But I'm not sure and you might want to check with Compcam. Supposedly......they made a cam to accomodate computer-controlled vehicles better.......supposedly.
