94 z-71 wont idle

hey ya'll newbe here my husband and i just tranny in truck and changed plugs, oil, wires, oil pump, and filters. when we first crunk her up she ran great then she started running bad and eventually died. crunk back up but had to keep gas to her and smokes white smoke really bad which we have a loose manifold also. but then i crunk her up about 2 hours later and she'll crank and run with no gas now but idles like ****!! and we checked the plugs and they had black like soot on them please help us figure this out. i'm thinking either map sensor or control module THANKS!!!!

It could be a bad map sensor, but i would check the cat. You may not be venting all the exhaust if you have soot on the plugs. Check the cat/exhaust for restrictions.

it's running good now but now tranny doesn't have reverse, starts in all gears, all the gears are scrambled. but drives and shifts okay but motor seems to bog down at times

If the gear selector isnt adjusted properly you wont have reverse or park. Just need to disconnect the shift linkage below the truck and manually put the trans in park, put the shifter in park and reattach the linkage.
