May sound funny, but does it taste like anti freeze? Yes I said taste. Every fluid in your vehicle has a different taste, and sometimes this is a very important troubleshooting tool. Only two major places water can come from. The radiator, or the gas tank. If it tastes like anti freeze, then you have a leak within the engine, that is allowing the coolant to enter the engine. This is not good. If it does not taste like anti freeze, then there is water in the gas. Some water is normal, and there will be a small amount of h2o exiting the exhaust system as the catalytic converter does its job with hydro carbons. Some water in the tank is normal due to differential temps from the tank to ambient, or atmosphere temps. This condensation only burns off with the gas as the gas is being burned off, The water usually turns to steam, and soon saturates the inside of the pipe, and exits the exhaust system as steam, and water dripping. Normal, and not too much you can do. If it looks excessive like pouring from a cup, you will want to inspect the tank for excessive water. this will ruin the pump in the tank, but that is about all. The reason for the black, is because the steam, and water is actually cleaning the carbon from within the engine, and the exhaust pipe. A simple taste will tell you what is wrong......

could smell it, but depending on where he lives, some additives used for polution control can also smell sweet, and throw off all but the best of sniffers. The old taste test never fails.

im going with 75 on this. it is more than likely the normal bit of water coming out of the pipe. running the injector cleaner will make it run a little different for a short while until it cleans everything out especially if you dont normally use any kind of cleaner.

| Dont worry if its just shortly after starting it up. Drive anit and really get it up to temperature and see if it still has water coming from the exhaust. If not then your seeing condensation, if not then investigate furthur. I wanted pto post a warning about tasting antifreeze, it is a poison, Don not swallow it. if you do decide to try to taste it then please wipe your tounge off immediately and rinse your mouth out with water.

Do you know how much anti freeze one must consume before they get sick? Way more than you can hold on a finger tip. Many poisons are consumed on a daily basis by all of us with little to no effects on daily health. In reality anti freeeze can also be absorbed by skin contact, as well as engine oil, and trans fluid, and even gasoline. Heak more fumes are inhalled while filling a vehicles tank, which can be more harmfull than troubleshooting a tailpipe to determine if it has antifreeze in the little dropplets or not. How many of you guys smoke cigarettes, or consume alcohol? I mean really, I am a beer drinkin guy that has had a few beers to many, or emptied a bottle of Jack more than once but still have enough sense to not drink an entire gallon of anti freeze. I mean really, ae we not getting a little nit picky here?
