Angry Fuel Pump

I have a question. I have been having trouble with my 95 4X4 Blazer for awhile now. It is throwing a code P0341 which say that it is the cam positioning sensor. I have replaced the sensor and it is still throwing the code. I have had to have my trans rebuilt twice and they said that the trans is going because the truck is running so rough. It has a bad miss and I have replaced the EGR, coil, Ignition control Module, plugs, wire everything nothing seemed to make it any better. Now I go to leave work and I have a new problem. The truck does not start, it does crank over but it seems there is no fuel. I listen for the fuel pump and it does not seem to be kicking on. I checked the fuse and it looks good but I changed it anyway. I opened the glove box to take a look at the relays and when I turn the key you hear a click coming two clicks coming from them. Once click first followed by a second click a few seconds later. I think this means they should be good. First question is could it be a bad fuel pump or should I replace the relays first to make sure they are not the problem ? Second could this be what was making the truck run so rough and throw a code for the cam sensor ? The last couple of days it was bucking pretty hard on acceleration.

Poor fuel pressure caused by a bad pump or regulator could very well cause your problem. However the CPS code is a little troubling, but possible I guess. I am not too confident that the trans would suffer from any of that, any surge in the engine would only result in a pressure change in the trans, and not cause damage. The converter would absorb any spikes in throttle input, so I might question your mechanic about that, but since it was re-built already, probably not a fight you are gonna win.
The tank has to be dropped to gain access to the pump. You are in luck however, that pump assy. is a two piece unit and is availabe with just the pump. This will save you some money. I believe the later 97, or 98 had a different pump that requires you to purchase a complete assy. with sending unit and everything. Do make sure you pick up a new "sock" or filter for the pick up tube. This does not come with the pump, (don't know why) and will need to be replaced as well. Try to clean off the top of the tank as much as possible. Dropping all of that dirt into the tank will cause a problem again in the near future. Good luck with the replacement of the pump....

A bad battery or dirty cable will cause many problems make sure that it has no green acid inside the cable. Just thought I would pass this info along to you. Good luck!

Thanks Guys, Do you think it would throw the code because of the fuel pump. Yeah I tried to talk to the trans shop and they blamed the truck itself and not their work. It actually was rebuilt twice. both times lost fluid once from the front O ring and second I believe it was from the lines but they were not about to verify that. Instead they voided the warranty because I never got rid of the code.
