| Hey guys i am doing a motor swap in my 85 K10. THe 305 is out and a 350 is going in. I have a problem. The Temp gauge plug (the part that screws into your head) doesn't fit in the 350 head. I have a reman engine and the heads are from a 1968-1976 350. Where do i find a plug that screws into the head. This sounds dumb but i have called autozone and advanve auto they can't find one. I don't just want to plug it cause i want the gauge to work. thanks |

| just use the 305 heads, it'll give you higher compression though.

| You can purchase an reducer if the threaded hole is bigger than the sending unit. Your local auto parts does cary it, even if they do not think they do. Most of those clowns usually start with "what year is the vehicle" as they type the info on the keyboard, can only read the puter screen, and have little to no knowledge of real world applications. Look inside of the package of an aftermarket temp gauge. All of these come with a veriety of threaded adapters. You will see waht you need. If the adapter can't be located, then you still have the option to install the sending unit in the intake. The intake will accept the larger sending unit, and the head will have to be plugged. This plug is easy to find. This can be found at your local home improvement store. This isian easy problem to solve, you just have to locate the components to do so. Good luck... |
