I thought that as well Changed it out (cheap enough) didn't work
it is strange
the truck has 2 inside lights 1 above seat and 1 under dash when the fuse to running lights blows the 1 under dash blows as well seems to be on the running light circuit the 1 above seat stays on and it is not attached to the light switch
has to be a wire shorting out somewhere
should be fun finding

Did you check the plug for the light switch when you replaced it?

Man I hate wiring issues cause they are such a pain to fix. The only thing I can say is what you already know. When the lights go out will your turn signals still work, or the brake lights, or does everything just die.

found a couple small shorts also still think it is in the switch gonna put in another new one
forgot the golden rule of parts (just because it is new does not mean it is good)
1st new switch was not working right it does not function smoothly and head lights on and off if you wiggle the switch
also can play with the switch slide and stops blowing the fuse
