k well i got 35" tires on my truck with 18" rims and i'm lacking stopping power to say the least. i've heard that replacing the master cylinder will help.... is that right or is there something better... if someone could recomend a specific part that would be great.

Pretty easy to answer that one Bryan. Bigger tires means more to start, and also means more to stop. Bigger brakes are what you need. Installing just a bigger master cylinder will only mean that you move a greater volume of fluid to the brakes. It will not stop any better. The larger diameter tires on your truck means that a brake located closer to the center of the axle is less effective at slowing the rotating mass. The trick here is to move the caliper farther out, but the only to do that, is to install larger diameter brakes. Discs out back wouldn't hurt either.

Yeah bud, those things are not cheap. You could spend some bucks on upgrade pads and stuff, but that is not the entire solution to the stopping problem. The best way to stop big boy tires, is with big boy brakes.

Just a thought, I just put ceramic pads on my car recently, and the stopping power seemed to almost double. I know there is a lot more to stop, but in an effort to try to save some money till you can get the big boy kit as 75K30 suggests, you could try the premium line of pads. Hay if it keeps you from running into the back of me... I am all for it....lol.

| Looking into brakes recently for myself, I belive that autozone has sevral brands that offer ceramic brake pads. I also hear that they are very heat resistant, so they last a little longer....
