if you want a tall truck that is still has the factory suspension then buy a dodge. they make my truck look like an s-10 when i park next to one. i don't think they have that much more clearance than a chevy, but it has more to do with the height of the cab and bed sides.
if you don't want your rims, i'll take them off your hands. mine are all flakey and is the worst looking part on my truck.

When you get tires, the size is a mathamatical ratio, the 305 is the mm in with and 70 is the percent of with to height and the r# is the rim. For example, when you buy a 235/75/r15, you can wider without going taller with a 285/55/r15, you know what I mean? You are just changing the profile. If you are looking for more with, and slightly more height, but not to much, change thopse numbers. if you have 8 in wide rims, you should be able to fit 325's on them, but the profile would have to be much lower. If you want 305's you can do it, but the overall height will have to be adjusted to just about match what you have. Thats about the best you are gonna get. Now if you reall want height, really dude, the only way would be a small lift and wider rims so you can fit more rubber under there.

Talk to the guys at the tire store, they will tell you witch ratio gives you what your truck needs. Unfortunately, that would be the choice.

the r stands for radial ply tire not for the rim size. it should read 235/75R/16. there is no way to get around it, if you wanna do it right and safe you will need a lift. whetherit be body or suspension is up to you.

Correct the R means its a radial tire.
And there is now way to fit 305s on a newer truck without lift, or a sawzall
