Problems with my 2004 chevy silverado oil pressure gauge

So I am driving about a half hour and my oil pressure gauge goes to zero. Then later it is fine again - until I drive another half hour. I have replaced the oil pressure sending unit, and it did not change a thing. This is driving me nuts, almost want to get a Ford (NOT). Anyone...........?

I would try to hook up an outside gauge to see if it is really loosing oil pressure or if you have a faulty gauge in the dash.

There was a TSB issued for this problem, either TSB 3639, or 01972. Both addressed erratic oil pressure readings. Two fixes were addressed, one was a chaffed wire from the sender to the gauge, and the other was a bad PCB in the gauge cluster. If you can live with an aftermarket gauge, and the warranty won't cover it, I would put in a nice autometer or something. A- pillar pods don't look too bad, you can also add, trans temp or something.

A 2004......are'nt you on warranty?? and since they have a TSB out for it, shouldn't they replace or repair it at no charge to you?

Its the cluster we are having more and more problems with them anything from speedo, oil pressure and ratcheting noises now even the ones we have sent off for repairs or exchange units are coming back if you complain enough at a dealer they will probably cover it.
