water leak

I have a 96' chevy k-1500...I've noticed that when I wash thr truck and even with the rain I get some water on the passenger side floor..Its coming out of the heater box by the blower..its not antifreeze...I checked under the cover were the wipers are to make sure there was no debries blocking the drain hole...everything was ok..noticed when it sprayed the fender corner area up at the top with a hose I noticed the water dripping out from the blower side underneath...any suggsettions?...does anyone have/had the same problem?.

First of all welcome to the site.
I think you have answered your own question. You have determined that it is not the heater core, that's good, and you have narrowed it down to the fender area. You now have to determine if it is coming in from one of the many firewall seals, like where the a/c stuff attatches, or if it is the fresh air vent. The fresh air vent recieves outside air from the cowl under the windshield wipers. You might be able to eliminate one or the other by wetting the windshield, and not letting the fender or firewall wet.

Well....I believe its the frsh air vent...turn off the switch for the fresh air and I haven't had any water in the heater box with all the rain we've had today....I also found on the inside of the passenger side fender,a plastic cover...you can see it pops in somewhere its got hooks on the back..found it when I peered through when I had the door open any ideas on what it might go to?

i have had 1 leak right under the windshield. i just popped off the wiper arms, and the cowl and used silicone.
