1982 Chevrolet Silverado door strikers

Does anyone know, did the 1982 Chevrolet Silverado C-30 have sacrificial plastic sleeves on the door striker posts like Ford pickups from the same period used? Or, was it just metal on metal? I suspect it was just metal on metal in which case can someone give me advice on how to align the doors so they can be shut without having to use a lot of force. Thanks.

yeah they are metal and if you loosen the stricker you should be able to move it but to let you know it will not move very much only a little like 1/4 inch eather way

Metal on metal yes, but the prblem is in the hinge. The hinge pins are worn out, and has allowed the door to sag. Very common for the G.M. doors. Rplacement is easy, and cheap, but just changing the striker post or even adjusting it will not fix your problem. Take a look at the hinge pins, and you will see how worn they are. Keep them greased up after replacement and they will last. As long as you have the grease or lube out, hit the hood hinges. The hood hinges need to be kept juiced up to prevent hood damage. Thos hoods are known to fold in half when the hinges get dry.

75k30 is right i forgot about the hinges they are the first thing to wearout if their not takin care of (greased) normaly about once every 6 to 12 months they need to be greased. because the pins are made of a little softer metal than the hinge it's self and the door rides on that pin. and will cause the door to sag and if the prob doest get fixed you will see a gap around the door
