292 motor swap help??

I have a 1984 GMC ice cream truck. It has a 292 motor in it.I would like to swap it with a completely different motor.Preferably one with some more power.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

It's a step van.
The motor in it now is a 292 straight six.Any info on what would fit in there? Im sure a few modifications here and there but what motor would do the trick?

should be able to drop a 350 in with no major problems. It'll give you good power and will bolt to your existing tranny.

Great thanks for the info. Also,I was wondering if you knew if a 1969 Dodge 318 motor would do the trick? My buddy has one out already, tranny and all. What do you think?

yeah if it has motor and tranny you can make it fit. Will require some fabricating but it is possible. The only thing about the 318 is your not gonna have as much torque as a 350 if they are both stock and depending on the size of your van that should be the determining factor.

I think we are gonna try the 318 motor. Its out already and ready to go.Im ok with the power that it will give me because anything is better than the 292 right now.

Again,thanks for all your help!
