Your door jamb has all of the data that you are looking for. The manufacturer has already placed weight ratings, and capacities for your truck.
The GCWR is the combined weight of the truck, and trailer that you will be able to haul safely, and legally. Just make sure that the weight of the trailer does not exceed the rating of the hitch, even if the GCWR will allow for weights greater than 5k lbs.

I've towed about 5000 lbs with mine before. Make sure you have trailer brakes, the stockers are horribly inadequate. I should mention my rear springs have a few extra leafs, so it wasn't on the ground but it was hurting. the wee-oh-five hated me that day. probably 4000 is the highest I would go any long distance.. Expect some terrible mileage and performance too. TBI motors just love dumping in more fuel.
