| truck wont start i have a 1994 chevy silverado 4x4 5.7 that a few months ago started loosing power going up hills. then it started loosing power going down flat road. and now it wont start at all. i put a new distriburator on it and spark plugs and wires thinking that might be it but it still wouldnt start. i checked the fuel pump and its working fine. i have no idea what the problem is and would apperciate any ideas |

| I'd check to see what shape the timing chain is in by removing the distributor cap and watching the rotor for movement while manually rotating the crank in both directions.

| MY guess would be the pump. Did you verify the pressure, or is it just running. Seen way to many guys assume the pump is good just because it still runs, only to waste hundreds on stuff they didn't need. Did you try spraying some carb cleaner/ether down the throttle body? did you check for spark? If good fuel pressure, and no spark or injector pulse you need a module, or a pick-up coil. I replace them both at once just to get it over with. So verify your fuel pressure with a guage, check for spark and get back to us. from your description its definitly sounds like the pump though.

| You may want to check the wires going to the distributor module. Definately make sure you have spark. And even though you put a new distributor in does that mean it came with a new module too? Also I have gotten bad modules straight from the store before.
