swamp buggy V6 swap

I need some info on converting a TPI vortec V6 to a carb setup. I have seen the intake by edelbrock. Anyone tried one? Also what size carb? What about the ignition system? Can you use an HEI setup even though I see they use a different style cap? Im setting up this motor for a swamp buggy so I want to keep it simple.

Welcome to the site;
This is the second question we have had regarding a carb swap. You will need a non computer distributor, and of course the right intake, and carb. The swap is very straight foward and simple, but I question why someone would get rid of a good injection system, especially in an off-road application where the injection has real advantages. It will never slosh around, it will work at any angle. It will start again if turned off at any angle, and will compensate for intake changes like adding the snorkel that you might be doing.
For the money, it seems like the simplicity of the injection is the way to go.

Thanks for the info. Can you tell me what to look for as far as non-computer distributor. Like a year range, HEI, non-HEI maybe a truck that would have one. I thought I read somewhere that chevy 4.3L uses the same HEI system as the V-8's. Only with the 6cyl. cap and rotor. Is this true?
