| 1989 C1500 brake proportioning valve My best friend has a beautiful fully resotred 1989 C1500 2wd. His brake line from the ABS valve to the prop block (Ford speak) has stripped it's thread holes resulting in him needing a new one. He and I can't seem to find a source on this much needed item. Any help out there in Chevy world would certainly be appreciated. |

| have you tried a tap and die set and then using a larger adapter to thread the brake line into. you may have to go aftermarket from a brakes retailer like bendix.

| yes< I took it to my machine shop guru who had two problems with the attempted repair andm therefore, couldn't do it: 1. Hole too shallow for bottoming tap. 2. Lot's of filings ending up in the valve. If this was A Ford (my specialty)< I would have all sorts of sources for him and, generally, Chevy has alot more parts available than Ford. |
