Lift Question.. NEED HELP

I own a 2003 Z71 silverado ext. cab, it has a 4" pro comp suspension lift and 35" bf goodwrench tires. I have some 40" tires avaliable to me but they will not fit in the tire well of my truck with only a 4 inch lift. Is there anyway to further lift my truck a few inches without purchasing a new lift kit?

Need input!! THANKS!

theres already a small portion of the fender cut... i dont wanna have to cut them further, and from the body lifts ive seen i dont like the way they look... but they are apealing from a financial aspect

If you don't already have block in back you could add some, or do a shackle flip. The front being IFS you gonna have to go with a bigger lift.

as long as you get some fender flares to cover everything up i don't have a problem with cutting them, but it's to easy to get carried away.

While 40" tires are cool to look at, the truck may not be to happy about the install. It will require more lift to clear them, that is the easiest part but you will also need to change the gears in the axles. Assuming that you are still running stock gears there now, it struggles with 35" tires, and stepping up to 40's is really going to make that thing work much harder. Now, the 10 bolt axle and the tiny front diff, little cv's are deffinately not up to the task of keeping those big tires motivated, not to mention, once you get them rolling, the brakes are pretty small, and will find difficulties in getting the vehicle stopped.
The 4L60E transmission is also going to have some difficulties with the larger combo, they just do not like that much of a load.
Just hope you take everything into consideration before you run right out and slap some big meats under there. There is much much more than meets the eye here.
