| Problem with my 2003 chevy silverado oil pressure gauge I just noticed that when I start my truck up the oil pressure gauge goes on the other side of the highest mark 80 and then when you give it gas it continues to go furture to the right almost straight down. Could this be a sending unit or a recall I missed as it is still under warranty ? Thanks for any help |

| welcome to the site: while low oil pressure is a very bad thing, so is pressure that gets that high. I believe thet the gauge is telling you lies, and is really not too accurate. The sending unit is electrical, and not mechanical, so there is a good chance the problem is in the electrical system, and not in the engine. Since the vehicle is still under warranty, yake a trip down to the dealership, and have them fix it. |
