best thing to do is take some windshield white marker and place 2" strip across each tire. Drive down the road a few hundred feet. If you have the correct tire pressure the marks will be worn off the tire evenly across.

I have those tires on my z71 and I run 35 psi in mine. I rotate the tires at every oil change and check the alignment every. Mine are wearing evenly across at 35 psi. I haven't had any problems out of my nitto's except that they are hard for my tire store to get.

If they are hard to get go to ebay. Tire direct has them for sale on line and most of the time shipping is free and the tires are cheaper.

the best thing to do is to go with the most psi that even tread wear allows. Whats easier to roll, a marshmellow or a marble?

BowtechAndy is right on the money here. Funny that most people are quick to run out and spend money on "gizmo's" that claim to get better mileage, and most never bother to take a few moments to inflate thier tires properly. A proper inflation is the most imoprtant key to long tire life, and the best overall gas mileage.
Wheel width and the curb weight of the vehicle will vary from vehicle to vehicle. The tread pattern test is a fantastic idea, and really the only way to determine a proper contact patch with the ground.

Manufacturers recommended valuse are there for a reason, running tires under inflated is entirely up to you, but added tire wear might result, and less gas mileage can be expected.

I usually run mine from 5 below(unless I am going to drag strip), but take in mind it will make a difference where your weight is on you vehicle and if you are hauling a lot of loads.
