2001 4x4 A/C Relay failure?

hey everybody,
got a lil problem.... my A/C blower motor only blows when turned to settings "4" and "5"... 1,2, and 3, do nothing, what the problem, is it a failed relay??? thanks alot

sounds like a worn out potentiometer in the heating control panel itself

Most likely a bad blower motor resistor. Very easy to replace with common tools and not too expensive.

alright, well i've noticed that th blower motor is on the interior of the firewall, has anybody done this procedure, what can i expect, what do i need to yank off to get to my blower motor? thanks for help!

No need to remove the blower motor...Just the resistor. It's locater just forward of the blower motor (Under the passengers side of the dash) and is held in place with two 5.5mm bolts. at should have like 6 wires going to it.

If the switch is putting out B+ to the resistor in 4 and 5 setting, the resistor is most likely the culprit. If you still wanna check it to be sure place a test light from the neg to the Pos terminals going to the blower motor....It should light in each blower motor speed setting, getting more intense with each speed higher.
