Front axle bearing removal

Hello, my name is Jim and am new to this forum. I am having trouble with my 02 Chevy 2500HD 4x4 , the left front axle bearing has gone bad and I am having difficulty getting the hub off. I have gotten the axle nut and everything else off. I am wondering how to get the hub off. It looks like I might need a gear puller, can any one help? Thanks in advance, I am basically a Ford guy but bought this plush Chevy for raod driving and am not that familiar with taking them apart as I am the Fords.

hmm.. Never torn a new one down but I'd think that as soon as you got the nut off the hub would come off. Dunno. Sorry bud.

if that is a "U" or "G" vin code, it is going to be a wheel hub assembly. It is sold as a complete unit, and is not serviceable, (just like ford and dodge unit bearings. It does have timken bearings inside of it, but you are not going to get to them.
Anyway, there are a set of stods that hold the assembly in, and the hub, and bearing assembly all come out in one piece, remove, and replace the studs, and re-install.
I believe your local supply house has the assembly for about 200 clams.
Gotta figure on the other side going pretty soon, if they have the same amount of miles.
