lights on, wanta turn em off

My chevy is a canadian truck and I can't turn thr daytime lights off or the auto heasdlights off. My mechanic says I have to replace the computer with an american version. TOO expensive.
It is a 2002 1500 hd crew?????????????

Unfortunately, he's right. According to the manufacturer, in the Canadian model you can't disable them

Yeah it stinks... I guess a new computer would be the only answer... Oh, or maybe a new truck. You can trade it in for an American made can'tchya?

If its a true Canadian truck he probably wants to replay the speedo and computer anyways to get off those kilometers.. those crazy canadians and their silly metric system

put the E-brake in one click, that turns mine off....don't know why but it does.

Rather than pulling it one click I would look into the e-brake wiring to see if there is a way to fool it `

I guess I better look next time

I didn't look to see if this was canada truck, turns out it was shipped to calgary and then shipped to north dakota and sold, I got it from the original owner. the
e brake trick works if the truck is in park to start with, maybe need to crawl around the empties on the floor and see if the there is a fix.

The odometer is american, so maybe it was changed when it came back to the states?
