Question engine missing 5.7 k1500

I have a 96 suburban with a 5.7 vortex, 4x4. 170,000. I picked up an intermiten miss in the engine. It feels lie a coil going out but every one tells me that when a chevy coil goes out, it will go completely and shut down. I put a cap and rotor in 1st thinking I had a carbon track in the cap. But it didn't help. The wires are only 8 months old and the plugs are still clean. A/C delco parts. I changed the catylitic converters at 90,000 miles, it's possible that they are bad again?

Any ideas??

Does the truck miss all of the time, or just at a certain rpm?
Is it limited to a single cylinder, or is it randomly killing all of the cylinders?

SAME Truck (96), SAME Problem here. Replaced cap, wires, rotor, coil (ALL AC DELCO), Distributor, pcv valve, checked vacuum lines, checked egr valve changed injectors to MPFI's, compression test shows all cylinders are fine. Not throwing any codes but I get the blinking ses lights indicating random misfire.
