Spark Plugs 2000 Chevy

Have 2000 4x4, 4.8. It calls for replacing the plugs 100k. PU a set of AC delco plugs. The part # is different than the one coming out? It now calls for a .040 gap and on the cowl cover it calls for a .060. I check the gap on the plug that came out and it is a .060. Has anybody seen a update on this and why?

Attention: Please disregard the Set Gap Per Vehicle Specification statement on the side of an ACDelco® Iridium Spark Plug Box. The statement will be removed from the boxes in the future.

This bulletin is being revised to bring attention to the Set Gap Per Vehicle Specification on the ACDelco® Iridium Spark Plug Boxes. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 03-06-04-060 (Section 06 -- Engine/Propulsion System).
• A new spark plug has been released for use in the above vehicles. The new spark plug has an Iridium tip instead of the current Platinum tip. Due to the different tip design, the gap of the spark plug has also changed.
• The new spark plug, P/N 12571164 with AC Delco P/N 41-985, is gapped to 1.01 mm (0.040 in) when the spark plug is made.

Notice: The spark plug gap is set during manufacturing and should not be changed or damage to the spark plug may result. Any new spark plug found to not be properly gapped should not be used.

correct me if Im wrong but this guy here just contradicted himself? he got some douche's "heads up" where the notice at the bottom contradicts everything it said?
Keep it at the manufacturer setting 4 ur block. I just popped some rapid fires in my 4.8. keep it .060. And good luck the plugs on the right side(pass.) of the block are a *****! haha but I got it all done without an extension or anything. And there in there pretty good so dont be affraid 2 go ape **** on em.

I don't think he contradicted himself the way I read it but I'd go with if you're put in what you took out EXACTLY (no tip change) then the old gap that worked good should still work good.

Maybe if you read his post and understood what he said... You would be a lot less likely to make an *** of yourself.

That "Heads up" as you referred to it, is an actual Technical service bulletin from GMs web site. I'm a 17 year Master Certified GM technician.
He said he has the updated spark plugs... Therefore they need to be gapped @ 0.040 where they should already be as they are "pre-gapped".

Oh .... and good luck with those piece of schit "rapid fire" plugs you just "popped in"..... You are the kind of sheep they are targeting when they make their boolschit claims of superior combustion and multiple spark capabilities.
One problem...... Unless you have a Multiple Spark Discharge ignition system, you're still getting the same spark or less than the OEM plugs produce.
