Really glad to see you are going to change the gears, I know you will be very happy with them. Should really make the truck move.
The differences in all of those kits are the amount of parts that are included. The least expensive one only has seals and shims. This means that all of the old stuff has to be re-used. All of the bearings will have to be in very good shape to re-use them, and you will have to press them off of the pinion very carefully. Now there is really only one way to determine whether or not a bearing was damaged, and that is to run it. If it is bad, it will be loud and you know what that means, Take it all apart again and do it over. Since you are looking at the front differential, and they seldom get used under the same load as the rear, you might get away with just installing the old bearings back in. You will really have to use your disgression here. For all it is worth, I like to change at least the pinion bearings. I can go with re-using the carrier bearings if you are going to keep the same carrier. No risk in damage there since they do not need to be removed, but the pinion is a little different. Runs a little bit more, but probably very worth it.I generally change them all out when I am setting up an axle, but is not necessarry all of the time.
