Question Funny wipers

My 97 1500 V6 auto windshield wipers act strange at times..ever so often they would come and go off and the switch is in the off position, they may not do for weeks and every once it awhile it would do it again, one time it go so annoying i unplug the connector from the wiper motor...anybody had this happen to them? and which one could be bad, the handle switch or the motor?

Thanks

Lets think about this for a minute, It is probably not the motor, since it recieves the signal from the relay and that is told to energize by the switch. It looks like the switch may be the culprit here. I could be totally wrong here, but it sounds very much like the switch to me.

Usually (99% of the time) irratic wiper action or behavoir is due to the motor cover/ckt board going bad, or experiencing water intrusion. Especially 95-98 C/K pickups.

I replaced the circuit board today at a cost of $60.00 from the dealer...hopefully it is cured. Thanks for all the advice.
