| Y-pipe Alright boys and girls heres my burnin question. Now I dont have all the money in the world cuz Im workin on payin my truck off still(about 1400 to go!) and wheels and lowering it when its all paid. But after the wheels is headers, maybe y-pipe. So: when I do my heddman street headers Im thinking about a y-pipe. Taking my cats out and doing a straight(no cat)Y-pipe, will that give me a check engine light from my 02 sensor? Thanks.. and a special 1 to 75K30! p.s. its a 2000 silverado.. my sierra went bye bye awhile back but now I got the V8 that dominates

| I run a 6.0L with no cats and I do not get a check engine light. You have 4 sensors total, and I do not believe that the new crossover even has bungs for the rear sensors at all. I believe you will need to install simulators or make your own. Glad you found out how to get into the new threads..... |

| Bypass the sensors A buddy of mine tried to pull out his cat after doing an exhaust upgrade, but he get the check engine lights because of the O2 sensors. They sell a kit that will bypass the oxygen senors, but it'll run you quite a bit. I have a 95 K1500 with a 350 in it. I upgraded its exhaust, and instead of no cat, I put a high flow cat and had no worries. Of course, in 95 the computer didn't pay much attention to the 02 sensors. But you may consider the high flow, it really has no restriction in it at all.

| yeah I was kinda thinkin about hi flows...the problem is I can only find replacement ******** cats 4 my yr. So I was gonna go with a dynomax that has "bigger openings" which make it their "hi flow cat" but I was kinda sketchy. Where as just putting my original sensor back in that straight pipe should make it just fine(so Im told)but I think I need more homework. but ur buddy..did he just let the o2 dangle or did he put it back in the pipe? and what yr/eng/make was he running?
