Electrical problems, I think?

Hi ok to start out with I'm new, so hey everybody.
The problem
My main problem is a couple of weeks ago my radio started to flicker on and off any time it was in second gear, but if I apply pressure to the gas peddle while its moving it will work intel I take my foot off the peddle. A couple of days ago when ever I down shift using the clutch the engine would die, no wierd noise or anything it would just stop running. It would start up every time after words just fine. When I didn't use the clutch it would down shift normaly.

The Story
Well I have a 92 dodge 150 6cyl 2wd. Recently I've been having some problems. I bought this truck about a year ago. It had 94k miles on it. It was an older couple that owned it and they just used it to make trips to the dump and farmers market. It is in great condition except the paints fading. It was a dodge red and now its a kinda a pinkish color, so if any one knows where to get it painted for cheap that would be helpful, but thats not the problem. A while back I went fishing with my now exgirl friend. On the way back we stoped by juniper dunes and stupidly I let her drive. Well she was fine intel we got way out there and had to turn around and then insted of listening to me she just tried flooring it and barried one of the tires. We ended up walking out about eight miles at two in the morning. When I got it pulled out the brand new battery some how came off the holder and straight in to the belts. Got all that fixed but my hazard lights wont work. I dont know if this is related to my other problem or not because I have not hade the time to even look at the fuses.

Welcome to the forum. Interesting story, you normally shift gears without the clutch and there's no noise ? You should check all your wiring for loosened connections or breaks given the story. Checking the fuses would be a good start, let us know when you have time to look.

Welcome Griffen85:
Sounds like you have a few problems there. Second gear and tha radio flicker may just be a coincidence. I kind of have a theory about your problem, and I believe it might be in the switch.
Do you have a bunch of keys on your key chain?I have seen on more than one occasion where a heavy key chain will wear out a switch and cause it to open while driving. This has caused many of nightmares because it can't always be duplicated.
Anyway, just an idea. As far as your flashers go, you are gonna have to do a little preliminary troubleshooting before we could speculate, as this would be nothing more than wild guesses.

And crabtruck:
I rarely use the clutch to shift. Both up and down. I really only use the clutch to engage the transmission from a complete stop. Have gotten so good at it, I rarely grind a gear. My International is a tough one but I can get her through all of them without a hint of a noise.

well, i can help you with your paint problem. as long as the clear coat is not flaking off you can use some rubbing compound on it. after a few coats you can switch to wax and it should brighten up the clear coat. unless you like a good work out i would invest into a buffing wheel also. good luck on the electrical problem.

No worries 75, there's a number of us who are still pushing the clutch we no longer have, so it evens out.
