I had another ? ,for anyone who might have an answer! My parking brake light, and my Anti-Lock light came on I guess a little over a week ago. Didn't bother me at first, but at night especially it bugs the **** out of me seeing those lights. I'm not too good with electronics ,and REALLY not good troubleshooting them. Does anyone have any idea what it could be,or even where to start ?

Welcome to the forum 90Power4x4. I'm guessing this is the same '90 power ram that you have the vibration on. I'm not familiar with that set up, but there are some basics to check. First is the parking brake switch, make sure it's not staying on because it broke inside or is out of adjustment. Second, check your fluid resevoir for level. In the course of the other work you have had done, the brake lines may have would up with air in them. If they were not properly bled, or if they were damaged, they may be setting off the pressure warning part of the light. Visually inspect the brake system lines for leaks or swelling hoses. Check the wheel cylinders for leaks too. You might want to check the brakes themselves are ok since that may also cause a vibration problem. This problem occured pretty much when the other work was done right ?

| If the parking brake sensor is malfunctioning, and even though it is not engaged, the computer will automatically kill the ABS. it is a safty loop in the system so that if the E-brake was infact enaged, it would not work against the ABS and cause a larger failure. So first things first, I would check the e-brake sensor. usually located on the arm itself. I am assuing this is a pedal to engage, look up the arm, and you should see it. Has two wires comming out of it. If that is not your problem, then start digging through the whole brake system. The snesor is cheap though, so hopefully that is your problem.

I might have some insight on that issue Hello, Yep I am new, but I had the very same thing happen. Did you happen to have a short somewhere in your truck lately??? I had a short in my firewall (91) dodge dakota which caused all of my exterior lights to go out and all my interior lights to come on including the parking break light and the abs light. Once I corrected the firewall issue, those two lights never went out. Matter of fact...yep they are still on. I have no issues with my parking break or my abs both are working. Cherish

crabtruck.... Yah it's the same truck..... But the lights came on before I started having problems with the shaft! And I really appreciate the welcome by the way!!!!!! And there is a chance that it is a short. But I took it on an Elk hunt about 2 months ago,and got mud everywhere !!!! A buddy of mine said that a piece of mud could be stuck in the censer . I don't know! I've had this truck 6months and I couldn't put any money in it till it was paid for. Now that it is I want to get all that's wrong with it fixed. I have to say...It's an ugly truck But I LOVE IT. These are the only problems I'm having right now.,and like Cherish said...It could be a short. But all I know is it's driving me NUTS !

Here's another simple approach. Grab a Haynes or Chiltons book and look what things trigger the light (ebrake, combo valve, abs, etc). Disconnect them one by one, without reconnecting as you go along. When the light goes out, you'll have found the problem area. If everything is disconnected and the light is still on, that helps too. Do go ahead and look for mud in the ebrake first, LOL.
