trans swap

New to group with a question. i have a 93 dodge diesel with a bad tranny.I would like to know if you can swap out a tranny froma 93 gas with a 5.9 in it. they are both auto with 4wd. gas truck is a parts truck and it would be a cheap fix if it can be done. if not any other help would be great thanks all

just rebuild the tranny, gas tranny won't work

the problem is the houseing is cracked and it is no good now

Junk yard. take a look, you might get lucky and find one there. Try hitting up the local tranny shops, they may have a trans shell available to them with bad guts, and if your guts are good...... see where I am going? Otherwise look into a rebuilt or remanned one.
