Exclamation Dakota rear whine.

Got the rear put in the Dakota and noticed a whine coming from the rear under acceleration. It sounds similar to a turbocharger spooling up, it goes away when i press on the brakes, but comes right back when I press on the gas again. What could it be?

sounds like the back lash is not set proper. if it to much you get a whine and to little you get a bang

The rear came out of a junkyard truck. Put it in myself with my girlfriend"s help. Works fine except for that whine. How can I check the back lash? I just changed the fluid today, it was muddy brown and had some rust deposits on the magnet. I havent tried driving it on the road just yet, I really dont want to destroy another rear. Its my second so far.
