Speedometer problem

I have a 99 Dodge 1500 that the speedometer does not work until I reach 45 mph. Please let me know if you have any suggestions that it might be.

Welcome to the forum rhinoo7.
May want to say what eng/tran you have.

Have you pulled the codes yet ?
Seems as if a problem with things closer to tanny should set a code.
If no code is being set, it could be the speedo gauge itself at fault.
